The 12 color types
Each season splits into three types, named after the quality that stands out most in your coloring. Not sure which one you are? Take the quiz or read how the system works.
Spring
Warm, light-to-medium and clear. Spring coloring looks best in colors that have a yellow base and some brightness, like coral, peach and warm pink.
Summer
Cool, light-to-medium and soft. Summer coloring looks best in colors with a blue base and a powdery, slightly grayed quality, like rose, mauve and dusty pink.
Autumn
Warm, medium-to-deep and muted. Autumn coloring looks best in earthy colors with a golden base, like brick, terracotta, cinnamon and warm brown.
Winter
Cool, high-contrast and clear. Winter coloring looks best in saturated colors with a blue base, like cherry red, berry, fuchsia and plum.
